Punishing: Gray Raven Release Date? Brand New Upcoming Mobile RPG

Okay so I may be a little late to the party on this one. Punishing: Gray Raven was announced late last year, right? But somehow I’d overlooked it for whatever reason. Recently, I’ve had a few comments asking me to cover the game – and that’s what I’m here to do today.
And I’m glad you guys made me aware of this, as holy sweet mother of Ghandi the character models in this game look insane. Not just the character models though – this game itself looks beautiful.
I can see the resemblance to Honkai Impact and Tower of Fantasy, for sure, but then both games are developed by Chinese developers, which I guess stands to reason. Interestingly enough, this isn’t even being developed by a large game studio – Kuro Game, who I’ve never even heard of is in charge of bringing this game to life.

Punishing: Gray Raven is an action RPG that was released on December 5th 2019 within China. The game supports both Chinese and Japanese languages, with popular voice actors from both countries.
The story follows us, the commander of the Gray Raven squad, as we lead our team into battle to fight against the infected, creatures that were corrupted by cybernetic enemies that destroyed the world, and other, opposing forces on Earth as we attempt to retake the planet.
The game, weirdly enough requires a Chinese national ID to play, having players go through with an identity verification. According to the internet, this is due to a new Chinese internet law, but that’s absurd and is really going to limit players from outside of China from playing through the game.
Which is fine I guess. It just means we’ll have to wait to play it in a separate release, or we’ll need to find a way to get around the verification process.

Either way, it doesn’t look as though Punishing: Gray Raven has an ETA on a release in the West yet, but it’s still new and that makes sense. We’re used to waiting for games over here after all. If everything goes according to plan however, the Punishing: Gray Raven release date will likely end up around Q3-Q4 2021.

Punishing: Gray Raven is a fantastic looking upcoming RPG.
I’m always more than happy to have games that look and play like Honkai Impact, and this looks like it’ll be a huge hit once it inevitably rolls out.
Whether or not we ever get it is another question all together, though.
