Lands of Kehliel is a Brand New Upcoming Kickstarter MMORPG

Lands of Kehliel is a brand new unique upcoming “competitive” MMORPG developed with a different, very original goal in mind. A goal that in my eyes makes it feel much less like an MMO and more like a Battle Royale.
See, instead of having hundreds-–thousands of different players wandering, exploring the world concurrently, all pursuing the same goal – to become the savior of the world, the best PvPer, the ultimate raider, participating in the same quests, Lands of Kehliel plans to be different. But being different isn’t always a good thing.

In this game you’re going to compete against other players – other groups of players more specifically, in an attempt to conquer the game, the world first. Once you complete a quest, other players will no longer be able to complete it, which gives the world a sense of finality. Typically in MMOs everyone can do the same quest unless they opt for a different faction or start off in their own unique zone. But in Lands of Kehliel quests will be finished by a single group as opposed to every player playing. Meaning if you happen to move slower than the other team, you’ll lose your chance at participating in that quest forever.
There will be traditional PvE in the game: Fighting monsters, bosses, gearing yourself and the like. But this MMO is looking to be one of, if not the very first MMORPG that focuses on “competition and personal skill,” in the words, not mine.
I’m not sure how this’ll even work honestly considering there will only ever be 4 groups of 4 players allowed at any given time in a world. I mean let’s be honest here: hub-MMOs are one thing. They allow for the grouping of 4, 5 players total who run dungeons together but they allow for concurrent existence within the various different hubs outside of the dungeons. Hundreds of players can all group up on the same channel at the same time and chat, hang out, trade, even group up to tackle more difficult content together. But Lands of Kehliel is only going to allow for 16 players total. Does 16 total players make an MMO? Furthermore, since you’ll never seen more than 15 other players, does that make the game feel like an MMO to you?
