Phantasy Star Online 2 Launches on PC Tomorrow! Are you Prepared?
So, Phantasy Star Online 2 Launches on the PC tomorrow and you guys have been asking a lot of questions regarding its release. Today, I’m hoping to answer as many of them as I possibly can. So, if you weren’t already aware then last week Sega and the PSO2 team went and sent out emails to people where they confirmed that the game would officially be launching onto PC on May 27th – tomorrow – in preparation for this they are actually going to be holding maintenance the night of the 26th as you can see on their website. They went on to state: “Attention, Arks. Our servers will undergo a regularly scheduled maintenance on May 26th in anticipation for the Windows 10 release of PSO2.”
Maintenance begins on 05/26/2020 at 11:00PM (PDT) and will last 6 hours, until approximately 5:00AM (PDT) – this is 2:00AM through until 8:00AM (EST) if you live on the East Coast.
“Phantasy Star Online 2 officially launches in North America on Windows 10 after this scheduled maintenance. Players will be able to download the game starting Tuesday, May 26th, at 11:00 PM (PDT).”
What this means is that yes the PSO2 game is going to launch on to the Microsoft store, it is only going to be available for people who run Windows 10, and you are going to be able to pre-download this in advance.
Then you were asking us specifically what server we were going to be playing on. Mrs Stix went ahead and held a poll on her Twitter asking you all which ship you wanted to roll on and you all agreed, with over 440 votes, that Ship 2 was where we wanted to begin our journey. Ship 6 was a solid second, so if for any reason Ship 2 is not available to create characters on, then Ship 6 is where we’ll choose to roll but our first choice is Ship 2.
Additionally, the PSO2 team revealed the brand new concert event featuring Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka. The two starlets in question will be in-game every single day offering live concerts that have the potential to reward players with a variety of rare drops and Meseta!
They’re also holding a brand new Alliance event, rewarding players who not only join an alliance, but those that create one and get other players recruited into them. Rewards include SG20 Tickets, the Two-Tailed Scarf, and 255: Rappies (the emote.) This event begins after the maintenance, and ends during the beginning of the game’s next maintenance on 06/09.
Finally, both the Ragol Edition and Sonic Collaboration Edition are still available to purchase. They each come with their own selection of goodies to redeem and are priced $29.99 and $59.99 respectively, however it is unconfirmed whether these are also applicable to the PC release of the game.
how does one create an account to play with????
Does anyone know if it will be available to download and play in the EU/UK?
To play in EU/UK, you have to change your locale to US in Windows Settings, then go to your Windows Store account settings and change the Country to US. Restart Windows Store and you’ll be able to find PSO2.
Do you have a discord for your community to party together an d play these games with you/with others?
