Your Weekly Byte Of MMORPG News: Blade and Soul Expansion, TERA Console Beta, ArcheAge, FlyFF Expansions

March, Week 2 In Review: Blade and Soul Expansion, TERA Console Beta, ArcheAge, FlyFF Expansions

Blade and Soul

Blade and Soul is releasing their new Fire and Blood update on March 21st. The update brings with it a brand new 12-man raid for players to tackle that will also debut their new Quick Time Events mechanic.
NCSoft stated that “At various times throughout the fight you’ll be prompted to react to attacks Koldrak unleashes by following the on screen prompts to push back the fire.”
The raid itself will be open to level 55 players and will be accessible five times per day. Players will be alotted 50 minutes to defeat Koldrak and will earn rewards that are dependent on how much damage was contributed during the fight.

EverQuest

EverQuest is celebrating its 19th anniversary this month with the launch of a new progression server called Coirnav. Yes, I very likely butchered the pronunciation of that but there’s nothing I can do about that.
To play on the new progression server however, players are going to need an all access membership pass.
Every server outside of this new progression server will be given a 50% boost to XP rates during the time period between March 16th and March 31st, along with a special event that rewards special mounts amongst other goodies.

TERA

TERA began its second stage of open beta testing for consoles on March 16th. Unfortunately for new players wanting to get in to the testing, the beta will only be open for participants from the beta prior.
Admittedly, the first open beta was very limited, but the second beta test promised to unlock most the zones, towns; increasing the level cap, and fixing a plethora of bugs that plagued the first beta test.

ArcheAge

Following in the footsteps of every other MMORPG since WoW announced their Classic Servers, ArcheAge has announced that with thehir new 4.5 expansion titled ArcheAge: Legends Return, launching April 5th, they will be releasing 2 new progression servers.
The new update adds with it new customizable dragon mounts that can be raised and then used together as battle mounts in combat. The Legends Return update brings with it major balance changes to the game’s classes along with additional world bosses.

Project Gorgon

A new Indie fantasy sandbox MMORPG called Project Gorgon has finally launched onto Steamas of March 13th. The game has been stuck in development hell since all the way back in 2009, finally raising enough funds to successfully launch via their Kickstarter in 2015.

FlyFF

FlyFF, for the first time in what seems like forever, is releasing a new expansion titled “Turning Point Part 2” on March 27th.
Webzen announced that the game will bring with it a complete revamp of the Abandoned Mars Mine, featuring some of the most powerful monsters ever seen before in-game.
New weapons and armor sets are rewards for only the bravest of explorers. The Guild War feature will be receiving additional, more powerful rewards.

Mabinogi

In lieu of Mabinogi‘s 10 year anniversary, Nexon is celebrating by hosting 30 days of special in-game events.
Players will be given the opportunity to earn in-game goodies like the 10th Anniversary NPC Miniature Box, a Party Balloon Pony Whistle (don’t tell my wife), and other fun, little items.
