Your Weekly Byte Of MMORPG News: Star Citizen Alpha 3.2, Warlords Awakening, Fractured And More!

Black Desert Online

Let’s start this off by talking about Black Desert Online. They’ve added in a new system that allows you to embrace your inner virgi-I mean, your.. ability.. to.. woo, yeah we’ll go with woo, various NPCs spread throughout the large sandbox world.
You can convey your affections towards various NPCs through gifts, increasing your Amity towards them – however, that consumes energy – which we all know is limited. Now, you’ll be racing other players in their attempts to woo your lovers as well, so make sure you finish fast.
No wait, that came out wrong. If the NPC accepts you and your feelings, you can essentially date them for a week, where you’ll need to continue to prove your devotion and dedication to them, lest some other gent come and steal your partner.
So either make sure to carry a small knife around, or stay ahead of the competition.

Dauntless

Phoenix Labs, the dev team behind Dauntless has announced its first major content pack for the Multiplayer Online Action RPG. The pack, referred to as “The Coming Storm” will include a new weapon, a new area called Ostia, and various new challenges.
The Coming Storm is expected to arrive in August. Furthermore, it was revealed that in late-August, early-September, a new Behemoth, along with a sixth weapon type will be made available in-game. The sixth weapon type being a weapon utilized completely at range.
Finally, every 2 to 3 months the game will feature large new content expansion packs to keep players entertained and busy. So everyone complaining about a lack of content can calm down and wait.

Defiance: 2050

Defiance: 2050 – That MMORPG Trion showed quite a rapacious need to re-release sans improvements is finally “releasing” on July 10th, with a “head start” beginning on July 6th for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
I will come out and say this now – I disagree with them re-releasing the game like this and I’m actually somewhat aghast to see Trion finds this acceptable.
Just.. ew.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen finally has some new news buzzing around, showcasing a brand new teaser trailer at E3.
The team behind Star Citizen, Cloud Imperium, teased the release of Alpha 3.2 as “coming soon”, and although the trailer doesn’t really feature much in-game footage, they did go on to show off their in-engine segments, showing what the game is fully capable of.
Unfortunately, the game has had no additional information released pertaining to its closed beta, let alone its actual release, so.. yeah. Still has an expected release date of 2037.

Warlords Awakening

A new MMORPG is on its way.. PLAYWITH Interactive, the developer and publisher of the upcoming MMORPG Warlords Awakening have revealed their intention to release the game on Steam in the Summer.
They went on to discuss how they are in the last stage of development, and plan to open the game up to players for an official Early Access sometime in July.
The game features five unique classes in total, the Blood Knight, Assassin Warrior (yes, that is one class there. Assassin Warrior. It’s not an Assassin. It’s not a Warrior.. It’s the Assassin Warrior,) *coming to a store near you* Sniper, Mage, and Psychic.
The game will feature action combat, dungeons, raids, and PvP. So.. it’s something to be on the lookout for.

Fractured

So I’m of the impression now that everyone and their mother wants to get a Kickstarter going so they can fund whatever warped thoughts they have running through their head, and Fractured MMO is another one to step out of the shadows.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against indie MMOs, crowdfunded MMOs, y’know.. I just feel like half of them we never end up seeing, and the other half turn out terrible.
Regardless, Dynamight Studios have released a new pre-alpha gameplay video for Fractured, a new Sandbox MMO in development.
Additional teasers will be released next week, but.. from what I can see it doesn’t look bad!

TERA

The Gunner’s coming to consoles on June 26th.

Blade and Soul

Blade and Soul is releasing a new event titled Celestial Dawn on June 20th. Accompanying the update will be two new events to assist players in leveling their weapons and earning trinkets.
The event will last until July 25th and consists of discounted upgrades and weekly challenges.
And if you weren’t already aware.. new class on the horizon.

Kritika Online

It’s been a little while since we covered Kritika Online. Regardless, Kritika has a new update hitting the Public Test Server that adds two new zones, some new crit damage tweaks, and an extension for Fractured Memories.
The new zones are available to players that are level 65. Furthermore, players that complete these new zones have a chance to earn new accessories, materials, and artifacts.
Additionally, the Fractured Memories Extension adds twenty new floors for players to explore while simultaneously expanding the cap on ability points up to 190.
