Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Patch 4.2 – Rise of a New Sun Launching January 30, 2018

Square Enix has finally announced Patch 4.2’s official launch date. The patch is headed for a January 30, 2018 release. In celebration of Patch 4.2, Square have released the official trailer to accompany the news of the launch.

Patch 4.2 – Rise of a New Sun arrives on January 30th!

Please note that there will be a 24-hour maintenance, which will begin on Monday, January 29 at 2:00 a.m. (PST) and last until Tuesday, January 30 at 2:00 a.m.
* Players will be unable to login until 2:00 a.m.

Like always, the new 4.2 patch brings with it a number of new additions, such as an extension of the main scenario, new side quests, new dungeons the “Crystal Tower Training Grounds” for The Feast, the new Team System, new Glamours, Beast Tribe Quests, “Subaquatic voyages”, new mounts, and so much more.
