Is Aion 2 In The Works?

Hello everyone!

Today, I’d like to take a couple minutes of your time to talk about an MMORPG most of you are no doubt familiar with: Aion.

Now, I’m sure you’ve read the title or at the very least seen the thumbnail prior to clicking the video, so before you get your hopes up, please be aware that this is not in any way confirmed.

So, NCSoft recently released information that they are working on a new MMORPG titled “A2”.

What this means is that the game itself is an MMORPG that more than likely begins with the letter “A”, and is a sequel to an existing game. Looking through NCSoft’s list of MMORPGs, you’ll likely notice one game in specific: Aion. An MMORPG that is still alive and kicking over 8 years after its initial release.

A lot of people are speculating that the MMORPG in question is a sequel to Aion, something fans of the game have been looking forward to ever since NCSoft announced Aion Vision in 2009.

Realistically, Aion 2 could be building upon what NCSoft originally envisioned for Aion Vision, with an NCSoft representative posting on their official forums in 2009:

“As you can tell from the trailer, the development team is hard at work on evolving the Aion experience in unique and innovative ways.
Some of the features highlighted in the trailer are further along in the development process than others. Because of this, we aren’t ready to share or speculate on timeframes,”

So, could this “new project A2” that NCSoft are planning be the sequel to the hugely popular Aion? Could it be the Aion Vision update in a completely new game?

Could it be something completely unrelated? Right now, nobody actually knows, however, we’ll make sure to keep you all updated with new information that comes out regarding Aion and “Project A2”.
