MMORPG News: Bless Online First Large Update, MapleStory 2 CBT, WoW BfA Pre-Patch & More!

What’s up everyone! Today is Sunday, July 22nd and with that, we welcome the conclusion of another week, and the release of yet another “Weekly Byte of MMORPG News” article.

So there’s quite a bit to talk about this week. Ranging from MapleStory 2’s second closed beta, to World of Warcraft’s Pre-patch for Battle for Azeroth, to MU Legend hitting Steam.. so, with that in mind, sit back, relax, and let’s do this.

MapleStory 2

Let’s kickstart this with MapleStory 2. It released into its second closed beta a few days ago and we sent out 60 closed beta keys for our viewers to redeem.
If you didn’t get in, then you can be on the lookout for our updated first impressions video for closed beta 2 in the coming week, featuring the new updates and overhauls applied to the game since closed beta 1.

MU Legend

Dungeon crawling MMO MU Legend is finally making its way to Steam. It doesn’t have an official date yet, but Webzen has let us know that it is expected some time during August.
While this move will likely provide the game with a much-needed player boost, especially with how bad the Webzen launcher is, it is nevertheless a Webzen game and likely won’t retain much of that.. influx, long-term.

Bless Online

Neowiz, in anticipation of Bless Online’s official launch of the game later in the year has released the first of several large updates, specifically, adding the Migra Turris dungeon, adjusting the drop rate of items in dungeons, heroic weapons, and some major bug fixes.
Migra Turris is the next dungeon for players to tackle, earning heroic level weapons after successful completion.
This is both exciting and simultaneously worrying news as the population numbers are struggling to remain above 2,000 concurrent players right now.

World of Warcraft

Ahead of World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth expansion releasing on August 14th, Blizzard have revealed that three animated short movies will be released prior to the official expansion hitting the live servers.
In the meantime, “Patch 8.0” is currently live and it offers players a large sum of content to play through in preparation.
The animated shorts will feature Sylvanas Windrunner, Jaina Proudmoore, and Queen Azshara.
The current 8.0 pre-expansion patch brings with it new character customizations, the new PvP War Mode, various class changes, the new orc posture, new Teldrassil and Lordaeron events, Legacy Loot Mode and a plethora of others.
So if you were waiting until August 14th.. you may want to re-evaluate that choice.

Warlords Awakening

I did a video on this a couple days ago, but, I figured I might as well reiterate my thoughts here as well.
Warlords Awakening, AKA Elite Lord of Alliance, AKA Inspirit Online is relaunching under the new name “Warlords Awakening”, so for those of you believing this is a new MMORPG.. don’t. It’s not.
Although Elite Lord of Alliance wasn’t a bad game, and there is still a market for it, Warlords Awakening is relaunching with a buy to play model. Even though its past iterations were free to play..
Furthermore, the game will officially release and become readily available to all players come July 26th.

Twin Saga

Twin Saga, after what seems like a content drought that has caused the game to decline in population to such a degree that I don’t believe there are more than a handful of players left, has finally released a content update!
The update brings with it two new zones, a higher level cap, a new dungeon, new story, new senshi, and finally a new class, the Cannoneer. Wiggy did a video on Twin Saga earlier this week showcasing the Cannoneer off for those of you interested in checking it out.

Kritika Online

En Masse Entertainment are also pushing out new updates for Kritika Online – adding new Danger Zones, Pet Gems, a new set of Class Awakenings for players to upgrade to, and rebalancing both PvP and PvE.
The latest class awakenings are the Vamp, Psion, Assassin, Catspaw, and finally Wolf Guardian. Class awakenings offer new appearances, unlock new combat skills and provide the Noble title.
The new class awakenings and skills will come in quite handy as players tackle the two new Danger Zones with Extreme Difficulty levels called Corsair’s Cave and Coldsnap Village.
