Is Counter:Side Already Dead?

When new games launch you hope they do well. It’s impossible to gauge whether they ultimately will or not, but the hope is always there. Naturally, when a game you’re enjoying doesn’t perform as well as you’d like.. it’s kind of disappointing.
1.) Because nobody else will mirror your sentiment about how good it is. And 2.) Because it likely doesn’t bode well for its future. And that’s what we’re here today to discuss: CounterSide, a beautiful Gacha game that released less than 2 months ago.

Counter:Side was a very fun game. I have a dedicated video on it up as part of my Worst Gacha Ever? series.
It did a lot of things right, had some outstanding graphics, great combat, a lot of content, fair launch rewards. Even the community seemed to receive it relatively well.
And while I can’t see Sensortower stats dating back more than a month, I did manage to locate the exact information I was looking for pertaining to May and June’s combined total earnings. While the game managed over a million downloads, it also made $1.5 million dollars.
That was.. actually, honestly, significantly lower than I would have expected. Especially given none of the top 20 Gacha games make less than $2 million dollars per month.
What this means, is that even during its launch window – the time when the game is at its peak in terms of popularity, players and earnings, it made such a little impact that it went over almost unnoticed.
A mere month later – August’s earnings were reported. 230,000 new downloads, and $1.1 million dollars. A decline of almost half a million dollars, and less than a third of its launch numbers as new players.
Within Korea, the game is barely managing to stay afloat. $350,000 dollars made last month, and – realistically, so few new players that it’s not possible to accurately track?
Counter:Side is the prime example of a fun game.. that nobody was interested in. Which is honestly kind of sad to see, as I did genuinely have a lot of fun in it.
And given the steep decline already present, there’s no doubt it will continue on this trajectory – probably quite rapidly. As many Gacha games seem to be doing these days. Which begs the question: Why are so many Gacha releases doing so poorly? Oversaturation? Are they just bad games? Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Why a gacha game doing so poorly? Let’s take an example counter;side and alchemist code. The first one was doing well until it releases another server which is global. Global gives gift codes and collab while SEA is neglected. The second one is The Alchemist Code it’s almost similar to what happened to counter;side. They created another The Alchemist Code(2.0) and neglected the original. And also we have japanese server which they also take care while the global original is neglected. You see the gacha games are failing now because it’s clear that they will just run with your money so why spend so much aren’t you dumb when you spend 10,000 dollars on your first game, second game and didn’t even satisfy you and leave you with depression because you cannot follow the story anymore. They just care about the profit and it seems this foreign companies like the japanese and koreans are really racist why not just create one server for everyone. I hope gumi this time will create one server and they will handle all things not like what happened to counter;side or The Alchemist Code that’s just dumb. This is why counter;side SEA players are reluctant to spend because they feel the server might shutdown anytime in favor of Global and in the case of The Alchemist Code it shutted down because of the competition with War of The Visions Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

I hope FGG’s Aster Tatariqus will be different because i love the artwork of TAC and POTK artists like G-ROW and RINZO i will be playing and simping the waifus there.
