Codename SYN Release Date? Brand New Upcoming Online FPS

This is a title that was brought to my attention that people told me I absolutely had to check out. I haven’t seen the trailer yet as I’ve been busy getting PARTNERED on Twitch! Yeah, we got partnered guys. But I digress.
I don’t even know what Codename: SYN is about, so I’m going into this without any knowledge on the game whatsoever other than there were quite a few of you suggesting I take a look as it’d be something I’m interested in. And if I’m interested in it, you guys probably are as well!

Alright, so first things first, if you couldn’t tell from the trailer, nothing was really revealed. This was a tech demo for the title, showcasing the character creation and some of the features we have to look forward to.
So for those of you that didn’t know, Tencent had announced various new games over the weekend during a live streaming event they held.
SYN was one of the games that they revealed, with the game being developed by the same developers behind the popular PubG Mobile game “Lightspeed & Quantum Studios.” I know, I know. “This is being developed by a mobile dev? Really?”
Yup, and honestly I’m not entirely sure what to think of that. Obviously Tencent know what they’re doing, so judging the game ahead of any real concrete information or footage is a little silly. We do have some information though!

Codename: SYN is going to be a completely open-world game. It’s an online first person shooter being developed for both PC and console platforms while interestingly not being cross-platform for mobile devices, something I didn’t expect to see out of a Chinese gaming company.
Mobile games are the market they’re most focused on these days because it’s the most profitable for them. And yes, the game is cyberpunk themed, as seems to be the theme of the 2020s.
It’s unconfirmed whether the game is going to function more like a Grand Theft Auto title or if it’ll be something more akin to a game like the now-shut down MMO Firefall but we’ll have to wait and see which direction development ultimately ends up taking.
Supposedly there are going to be 3 playable factions in-game each with their own unique cybernetic pets that have customizable aesthetic look and traits. Whether this means there’s going to be a form of PvP is up for discussion but it would definitely seem like a possibility.

Codename: SYN is going to have a complete, global release and while there has been no official release date scheduled, Codename: Syn is expected to release in 2021.

Regardless, this is going to be a game to keep an eye on as not only does the tech demo look absolutely incredible, but the idea behind the game could grow into something truly remarkable.
