So whenever we talk about Isometric MMOs (or MMORPGs), people always reference the two giants: Diablo III and Path of Exile. Now, Diablo III is a great game, but so is Path of Exile from what we’ve experienced so far. Path of Exile, from what I can tell, has a very dark feel to it and is filled with death and destruction. So much so that every zone we go to is filled with zombies, cannibals, wet zombies, drowned zombies, flying zombies and the like. Everything is either dead or trying to eat you. And they’re pretty much the human enemies as well! Not counting all the dog and crab monsters we’ve encountered thus far!
Overall we’re having a very good experience in Path of Exile, the combat is fun (actually, very fun!), and the graphics remind me of older games I used to love (albeit more updated – don’t get me wrong.)
The voice acting is also fairly solid considering the games budget!
The only problem I could find in the hours of playing thus far was that I don’t believe it was explained properly how the skill system worked before we (eventually) figured it out. Not really a problem, overall, but we’re stupid and it wasn’t as easy as it could have been for stupid people! :^)
In the video, you mentioned one other MMO that is similar to PoE, in addition to Diablo, but I can’t quite make out it’s name. Moo? Moon? Legend?
What is the name of that MMO?
Ah, no problem. The game I was referring to (in feel) was MU Legend!
Ah! So it was MU instead of Moo! 😉 Thank you! I’ve been playing Path of Exile for a little while, but I think I still prefer Sacred 2 with the Community Patch. I just prefer huge open worlds to the linear point-to-point progression of PoE or Diablo.
Yes! I made the same mistake originally. I was like “How.. do I pronounce the name of this game? “Em Yew?” or “Moo?”” haha.
Never played Sacred 2 unfortunately!
