Transformers Online is entering its open beta! Hell yes, am I right guys?! I’m totally playing Skids or Mudflap, or maybe Megatron, sometimes you just gotta play the evil characters, you know?. So, It goes into its open beta on June 23 in China, by the publisher Tencent.
But never fear, as Chinese MMOs aren’t region locked unlike Korean or Japanese MMOs, and therefore you aren’t required to use a VPN in order to actually play. Once you’ve signed up for a QQ, and it’s downloaded, you can literally just click play
and it’ll work without issues.
So if you’re still interested, since you’ve watched up till this point, you’re no doubt wondering how Transformers Online actually plays, or what its all about! Transformers Online is a team oriented shooter, similar to
Overwatch I guess, but with Transformers. They have unique ability’s and yes, they can still transform into cars!! It’s mainly used to travel the maps faster, but depending on the character you choose, you may have to transform into the car/jet or tank to use specific skills. So yeah, in essence it’s a MOBA type MMO, where you and your team verse another team, while trying to complete an objective specific to the map.
There are also a few game modes to note, for instance there’s Team Deathmatch’s, a melee exclusive mode called Blade Wars, your typical Capture the Point, kind of missions and finally a mode where you can fight against AI auto bots, or decepticons, for those of you
who don’t like to PvP.
So guys do you think Transformers Online will come to the western market? Considering this is officially licensed by Hasbro, I believe it’s definitely a possibility, although it does have a lot of similarities to Overwatch, each class has having character specific ability’s,
and Ultimate skills, that charge overtime, the general gameplay itself is reminiscent of Overwatch. All of this may decrease its chances at making it to the west.
